Bloomsburg Lacrosse Falls Short vs. ShippensburgBLOOMSBURG-The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team lost a tight match, losing 15-13 to PSAC conference-rival Shippensburg on Thursday afternoon. After Allison McFatridge Hatboro (Upper Moreland) gave the Huskies an early 1-0 lead, Shippensburg responded by scoring the next four goals to take a 4-1 lead with 18:08 remaining in the first half. Bloomsburg battled back, however, as Sam Alexander Willow Grove (Upper Moreland) and McFatridge each scored a goal to cut the lead to 4-3. Shippensburg then responded once again scoring the next three goals to take a 7-3 lead with 5:50 left in the half. Bloomsburg added goals from Megan Taylor West Chester (West Chester) and Cali Toms Pottstown (Pottsgrove) before halftime but trailed 7-5 going into the second half. The Lady Raiders maintained the lead throughout the second half and had a 15-10 lead with just 4:45 remaining. Bloomsburg then mounted a rally, getting a goal from Toms and two more from Alexander to cut the lead to 15-13 with one minute remaining. However, Shippensburg was able to hold on to the lead for the final minute to preserve the win. Alexander and McFatridge each had three goals, while Cali Toms had two goals and an assist. Shippensburg's Kim Hudicka tallied six goals to lead the Lady Raiders. Bloomsburg falls to 2-7, 2-2 in the PSAC while Shippensburg improves to 2-3, 2-2 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg will East Stroudsburg on Saturday at 1 p.m.
